The Southeast Region includes 13 counties, with Cape Girardeau being the region’s largest city. Health Care and Social Assistance and Retail Trade are the top two industries in this region. Top health care employers include St. Francis Medical Center, Southeast Missouri Hospital and Missouri Delta Medical Center. Southeast Missouri State University is the largest government employer.
